He was just so kind to be true. The sweetness he presented when he was with Jane was something that made her so dreamy that she did not want to wake out of it. From his first impression, he looked like a guy who would leave her breaking her heart so easily without any regret. Jane thought, ‘There is no way I could get on with this guy. It’s just not going to happen.’ When he made his first move on Jane, she was a little puzzled why this fine boy would find interest in her. She knew from the beginning that this relationship wouldn’t last long. She just wanted to enjoy the night and forget about it all going back to normal routine of her life the next day. Meanwhile, she longed to be loved and cared about. She was afraid she would be used like any other girl who just would get tossed out after guys fulfill their desire. For a while she was in confusion with her feelings. Her delicate mind shattered and reformed again with fears and endless thoughts. What held her back was not the thought of being in love again, but the seriousness of this relationship and how she actually felt about him. It was a must that she views him objectively. She used to say “I would go for any guy I encounter,” as she giggled playfully. To meet someone, have feelings, and getting into a relationship seemed almost impossible for many years. She rejected so many guys that came close to her in last three years. Jane did not want to miss this chance because of a single mistake in saying no to him. How could she wait another three years to get a chance like this?
Steve firmly proposed to Jane.
“Jane, I would like to go out with you.”
“…….”
“I’m going to call you in an hour. If you pick up the phone, I consider it means yes. If not, I will delete your number and forget about everything that happened between you and me.” Steve was impatient. To Jane, yes or no was not the answer she could give.
‘Guys must know that it is much more complicated process going on in women’s mind.’ She thought. However, it was yes even before she knew. She did not want to let go of him. Perhaps this was the first time in her life she felt physically attracted to a guy. It was like looking at a neighbor’s beautiful garden thinking ‘I could never have that kind of beautiful garden myself.’ Whenever he held her hands, she felt as if she was an intruder sneaking into the garden touching the roses.
‘How could a guy like him find interest in me?’ She thought.
‘I’m overweight, not pretty, clumsy, and loud. But he is good looking, tall, and lean. Also he is kind and caring.’ What if he suddenly realizes that he made a mistake and leaves me heartbroken? This greatly concerned Jane. She did not want to be wounded.
Despite all her worries and concerns. It was clear that she was in love once again.
“Hi Steve, Are you still there for me?”
“I’m very thankful that you came to me Jane.”
One summer romance started its way on Fourth of July.

Most of my comments I believe were deal with in class--you have wonderful lines in here (the business about the garden is particularly nice), and I think the whole thing simply needs placement. That is, the scene itself doesn't yet seem to occur in any particular place and I'm very aware that I can't follow the passage of time in the scene either, not quite yet. That said, will this be the ten page piece you choose to work on for your final project? It would seem that it might need some more development, if that's the case--what you have here could be expanded, but I'm not sure to that kind of length.
